At Hotel Bergwelt, alpine luxury meets responsibility for nature and the future. The protection of our unique environment is just as important to us as the well-being of our guests. That is why we focus on sustainable measures in all areas of the hotel - from energy and mobility to cosmetics and cuisine. We are currently working hard to achieve the Eco-Label award, which officially confirms our commitment to environmentally friendly hotel management. Certification is planned for 2026.

Our sustainability approaches

Many small steps - one big goal. For us, sustainability is not only reflected in big words, but in our daily actions.

Purity from nature

Our mountain spring water comes from natural sources, is treated directly in the hotel and served in glass bottles. This saves on transportation, avoids plastic and offers fresh drinking pleasure - directly from the region. In operation since November 2024 - over 10,000 bottles per season.

Real natural cosmetics

For our rooms, we use certified natural cosmetics from TEAM DR JOSEPH - 100% vegan, cruelty-free and plastic-neutral. Thanks to the refill system and bulk dispensers, we avoid waste and focus on sustainable care with the highest standards.

Energy from the sun

Our photovoltaic system produces around 50,000 kWh of solar power annually for our own use. In addition, LED lights and motion detectors reduce energy consumption in the hotel for greater efficiency at all levels.

Charge & go

Three hotel-owned charging stations allow our guests to conveniently charge their e-cars. So you can discover Ötztal emission-free - directly from the hotel, without any detours and with a clear conscience.

Heat with responsibility

The entire hotel is heated with regional bio-heat from Obergurgl - climate-friendly, reliable and sustainable. Thanks to short distances and local added value, we strengthen the region and protect the climate at the same time.

Less waste. More awareness.

Our waste concept focuses on prevention, waste separation and recycling management. From reusable products to training for employees - every step counts. Our buffet planning also helps to minimize food waste.

Regional indulgence

We work with selected producers from the region: e.g. the Brüggler family (milk), Franz Weisiele (potatoes), Ötztaler Quellfische, Ötztal Bäck, Handl Tyrol or Tiroler Edle. The cuisine remains regional - with modern vegetarian and vegan accents.

Thinking regionally

Whether in the minibar or at the bar - around 90% of our drinks come from Tyrol: TIROLA Kola, Sölsch beer or Montes mineral water. In this way, we remain true to the taste of the region - and reduce transportation routes.

We rely on local companies such as Gstrein, Falkner & Riml and Haid & Falkner for conversions and technology in our establishment. Short distances, strong partnerships and genuine craftsmanship from Tyrol.

Living with a view

ur employees live in modern accommodation just a five-minute walk from the hotel. Short distances, better quality of life and a sustainable contribution to everyday life together - for a strong team spirit.
