The Garage – Street art at 2,000 meters

A unique art project at the art & relax Hotel Bergwelt

In the summer of 2025, five international graffiti artists transformed our hotel into an art stage. Within a week, they decorated the underground car park of the Hotel Bergwelt and the façade of the abitare chalets with large, expressive motifs. The result is unique works of art – raw, colorful, and full of heart.

As an art & relax hotel, we want to not only create space for creativity, but also open up new perspectives for our guests: on art, on color, on what remains. Follow the “The Garage” project in the film, get to know the artists, and take a look behind the scenes of a special moment in the history of our hotel.

Five artists. Five styles. One vision.

We invited five internationally active graffiti artists to participate in “The Garage” project – each with their own style, signature, and story. Together, they transformed our underground parking garage and the façade of the abitare chalets into a visual experience that impressively combines urban art and the alpine environment.

From the first sketch to the final spray of paint—here you can see the project in all its facets.

A heart for Obergurgl – and a marmot as ambassador.

The central element of “The Garage” is the marmot motif – designed and implemented by HEAT. It holds a radiant heart in its paws, symbolizing vitality, energy, and this special place in the mountains.

In the background, a landscape is hinted at – a visual reference to Prof. Auguste Piccard, without whom Obergurgl would not be what it is today. The marmot embodies the spirit of Obergurgl: rooted in nature, open to new ideas and full of joie de vivre.
